Ashley Marie Hodge

After receiving my first medical school acceptance at age 17, I instead decided to deepen my educational and leadership foundations in the UCLA Undergraduate College Honors Program. Beyond double majoring in Molecular Biology and Polish, I am also double minoring in Professional Writing and Theater to build upon my 6 years studying writing and theater at Orange County School of the Arts. I am also a founding member of a volunteer mentorship opportunity at a local hospital and deeply involved in various on-campus organizations.

During the summer, I serve as the Lead Instructor of C.R.A.F.T. Research Scholars. Aiming to prepare the next generation of health literacy researchers, our free introductory intensive had 308 registrations across 23 countries in 5 continents in 2025. Of the US-based scholars, 37% were supported by federal pell grants, and numerous scholars were non-native English speakers. Scholars who complete the program leave with a research portfolio. I also manage the C.R.A.F.T. Conference and C.R.A.F.T. Research Briefs publication associated with the program.
